Hart District Teacher of the Year Shelley Turski, a science teacher at La Mesa Junior High School, has been chosen as one of the 16 LA County Teachers of the Year. The announcement was made Sept. 24 at the 40th Annual LACOE Teacher of the Year luncheon held at Universal City.
Mrs. Turski was chosen from a group of 56 fellow district teachers of the year, representing a pool of approximately 72,000 teachers in the county. Mrs. Turski marks three years in a row a Hart District teacher has been chosen as one of LA County's finest, following Jim Klipfel last year and Laurel Priesz the year before.
